Signal Box Meadow

This tiny meadow is being encouraged for the benefit of both wildlife and passers-by, and was inspired by a population of Meadow Crane’s-bill. This true Geranium is normally found on limey soils in northern Britain and only thrives here due to the nearby lime kiln. ‘A Seat For Four Sleepers’, crafted by local artist Paul Anderson, encourages people to linger and enjoy. You can see more of Paul’s work at the Eden Project. The Northern Devon Coast and Countryside Service assist us with the management of this site.
