Salmon Running |
|
This willow sculpture was designed by children at the village primary school, their inspiration being the life cycle of the salmon of the rivers Taw and Torridge. The willow artist Serena De La Hey advised us on this project and created the sculpture’s frame. She is perhaps best known for her giant man on the M5. ‘Salmon Running’ was originally woven by the children, with the help of parishioners, around the Millennium. Since the willow weathers over time the sculpture needs periodic renewal, for which we hold a willow-weaving workshop.
